Tree work
At Prestige Treecare we aim to give you an expert and skilled service. Advice is given on the overall health of a tree, and our recommendations are based on this and also on what you what the end result to be.
From delicate crown thinning to allow more dappled light into your garden to a fell of a tree that is dangerous or has out grown its position. The tree work we carry out includes crown reductions, thining and lifts, felling, sectional take downs, deadwood removal, ivy removal and also emergency work.
Stump grinding
Stumps can either be removed by being grubbed out, or ground out.
Grubbing out means to dig around the stump until it becomes loose enough to extract, and can be undertaken when trees are of a suitable size.
When the stump is too large for this, stump grinding is the preferred option. This involves a machine with a spinning disc, which smashes the stump into small chippings. These incorporate with the surrounding soil and begin to decompose quickly, excess grinding chippings can be taken away but this would be specified in the quote.
Woodland management
Prestige Treecare staff are experts in the care of veteran trees and woodland management.
Our team of fully trained arborists have extensive experience in the management of ancient trees within special sites of scientific interest (s.s.s.i.) and working to the standards of the National Trust in many of their woodland and garden properties.
Fruit tree pruning
If you're looking to maximise your chances of a bumper crop this year then make sure your fruit trees have been pruned correctly. We are experienced in managing domestic fruit trees and various orchards including apple, cobnut and pear. We would be delighted to advise you on how to make the right choice.
Hedge trimming
We can trim any size or species of hedge from an immaculate conifer screen to an unruly mixed species boundary hedge. “Untamed” hedges can be brought under control and reduced in height and width where applicable to create a tight and manageable screen, making it cheaper and easier to maintain for the future.
Tree preservation
Some trees are protected as they can be situated in a Conservation Area or are subject to a Tree Preservation Order. If this is the case no work to the tree is permitted without following a strict application process. This can seem like a daunting task however our office staff handle all applications to relevant local authorities free of charge.
Veteran trees
At Prestige Treecare we are passionate about the role veteran trees play not only in historic landscapes but also in providing a vital habitat for a wide variety of species.
Our staff are trained in the care and management of veteran trees. By using speciallist tree surgery techniques we can encourage an abundance and continuity of specialist habitats for plant, insect and animal species, particularly in relation to dead wood.
We offer surveys and long term management plans for veteran trees ensuring their preservation and also that of the habitat they provide.
